In October 2013 the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and the Australian Sports Technologies Network (ASTN) announced a partnership focused on improving innovation across Australia’s sports system.

Amongst the initiatives under the 2-year agreement the ASC is a brand sponsor of the ASTN’s Annual Conference, Innovation Forum and Sports Technologies Investment Pitching Competition.  It will also see all National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) have the right to be members of the ASTN and receive free entry to the Annual Conferences and the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Innovation Forum.

Under the initiative the ASTN will also facilitate delivery of workshops on “Digital Innovation and Sport” via its network of experts in this field. These workshops will help NSOs build their understanding of the opportunities that digital platforms present for their sport.

The ASTN will also work closely with the AIS Clearinghouse to build on its Sports Technology resource repository ensuring that the sports community has up-to-date knowledge of developments in the industry.
