Best suited for existing exporters, the world-regarded Program focuses on finding and validating new international growth opportunities for export-oriented technology companies.

Many successful Australian companies have participated in the UCLCA GAP over the past 15 years as part of their export exploration plans.

As part of the Sports Manufacturing Export Development Programme the ASTN (supported by the State Government of Victoria) will provide a subsidy of $AUD10,000 each a total of 9 businesses that participate in the UCLA GAP in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Eligibility for subsidy: To be eligible for the subsidy the business must be an existing participant in the ASTN’s Sports Export Acceleration Program. Some businesses involved in the Sports Export Readiness Program may be considered.

Investment required: The UCLA GAP Program fee is $US17,000 (up to $US13,000 is available for market research and student travel). Other requirements include;

  • top management’s time to meet with students (~1-2 hours/week over 24 weeks from June to December)
  • 2 executives travel to UCLA for events in July and December 2016
  • full access to strategic and financial data
  • host 2 students at your company headquarters for 3-5 days

Expression-of-Interest / Application: Interviews with potential applicants will be conducted in Melbourne with a UCLA representative on Monday 22 February 2016. Formal applications for the 2016 intake close in April 2016. Each applicant will be assessed by UCLA for acceptance into the Program. Please contact the ASTN if you are considering an application and wish to apply for the ASTN’s subsidy.
