In partnership with the City of Perth, ASTN hosted three events on 3rd December in Perth focused on building a plan for the future of the sportstech industry in Perth as well as showcasing leading and emerging sports technologies.
The day started with 30 sports, sportstech and vested industry stakeholders contributing to an interactive Industry Roundtable aimed at developing ideas, activities and other initiatives that can help drive the growth of the local sportstech industry. An action plan is being drafted from the session which will provide the foundation for future priorities for ASTN and key stakeholders in Perth.
The afternoon Investment Pitching Workshop provided a unique opportunity for seven Perth-based founders to pitch to some of Australia’s leading sportstech investors. After the pitching sessions the founders were able to engage directly with the investors to gain additional feedback on their pitches, their business opportunity and future investment prospects.
The day closed out with a fast-paced networking event at the City of Perth Library Auditorium, hosting around 80 delegates. Three panels were facilitated including one on venture capital markets and global sportstech trends by Stirling Mortlock and James Godfrey from XV Capital. Seven Perth-based founders also shared details of their sportstech businesses and their plans for the future.
