The Australian Government, in partnership with the Government of Gujarat, India, is hosting an Australia-India Sports Cooperation Forum on the 5th and 6th of March 2025 in Ahmedabad.

NSW shares a sister state relationship with the State of Gujarat and this event presents a lucrative opportunity to NSW businesses that can make an early headway and explore working with the Indian government and industry prior to India hosting the 2036 Summer Olympics, likely in Gujarat!

  2. Engage Australian education and sporting institutions and their Indian counterparts to foster collaborations.

  3. Indian Olympic Association: as the governing body for the Olympic movement in India, the Indian Olympic Association is an important partner to set expectations and goals for sport governance and athlete welfare.

Format

  • A two-day conference at a major venue in Gujarat, preceded by friendly sporting activities and involving site visits relevant to Gujarat’s plans to host the 2036 Olympics
  • Attendance of approximately 200 people comprising of Australian delegates and Indian delegates.
  • Along with the conference, the activity would involve site visits to the world largest cricket stadium - Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium and other key sites related to India’s Olympic ambitions.
  • Following the two-day conference in Gujarat, participants can opt to discuss travel to other Indian cities where business opportunities may arise, arranged by Investment NSW post discussion with you.
