The cost of the stadium, which is set to host the athletics and opening and closing ceremonies, is yet to be announced, although the 100-day review said it would come in at an estimated $AUD 3.785 billion. A new national aquatic centre with a Games capacity of 25,000 and multiple pools will be built at the Centenary Pool at Spring Hill. The cost of the Games is set to climb from $AUD 7.1 billion to $AUD 8.8 billion.

TreadLightly is an industry-led national recycling program established in 2021, powered by the Australian Sporting Goods Association (ASGA). The program is dedicated to empowering Aussie sports enthusiasts to reduce their environmental footprint by recycling their sports footwear and balls. The TreadLightly Sports Ball Program was launched in August 2024 and has since recycled over 25,000 kgs of sports balls.
